While some reviewers mentioned small portions and slow service, the overall consensus is that JOEY DTLA is a fantastic dining destination worth returning to.

I recently visited Joey DTLA for lunch meeting and I was impressed by the welcome with their complimentary champagne although I didn't end up grabbing one. The interior was clean and nicely decorated, creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. The service was top-notch, with attentive staff who made sure we had everything we needed. I decided to try their steak with crab cakes, and I was not disappointed. The steak was flavorful and cooked just right, but the steak was a bit too dry. The crab cakes were also delicious, with a perfect balance of flavors and a crispy exterior.

Host and servers were all very nice and accommodating; felt very welcomed. There is a very limited amount of seating inside for larger parties so be prepared to sit outside if your party is larger than six people. While it seems that tables could be moved around, they cannot be because they are bolted into the floor. I was not prepared to sit outside and was chilly even though I was wearing a leather jacket in the summer. The restaurant gets very busy and it can get very loud. The food has been pretty good in my three experiences at the restaurant. Some of the dishes have come out with unexpectedly small portions; tasty, just small. Highly recommend the Apple pie dessert. The phone system / call tree is terrible and trying to make a reservation for a large group is really difficult. Only smaller parties can make reservations online.

I was able to get a seat at the bar pretty easily for just myself. The bartenders shared taking care of me and they did a really good job. I was able to order food and drinks and they were very attentive. I ordered a mock tail since I didn't want to drink alcohol that night. It was delicious. I also ordered a tuna Poké bowl. It came out pretty fast and was very good. I like the mix of avocado, crunchy flakes and cucumber along with the sauce for the poke. The price wasn't bad considering it's downtown LA. Overall, a good dining experience

100/10 I go here at LEAST once a week my go to's are the salmon sushi and 1 hand roll ! It's not a sushi place but their sushi is so fresh and tasty. I also get the Korean fried cauliflower which is sooo good with their Parmesan dip it goes perfectly together And of course a tequila lemon drop

I attended a conference in LA and had the opportunity to eat at Joey DTLA and the food was so good I had to come back the next evening for more. India and Kinnedra were the best. I had excellent service and great food. My favorite is the hummus with pita chips. Thank you India for your superb service. Q

Joey DTLA, "Wow the Food is amazing!" TeeJ is the best. Extremely accommodating and kind!

Nice restaurant. The ambience was on point with friendly staff. We were greeted with free sparkling wine. Sparkling wine is not my favorite but this glass was delicious. We ordered the Mediterranean Bowl, Sake Glazed Fish, Roasted Corn Guacamole, Apple Pie, coffee and a glass of Pinot Noir. The food was delicious, everything we ordered had amazing flavor in each bite. I would definitely come here again and invite others. I would have given 5 stars but the service was slow, and the portions seemed a bit small for the price.
